The Nigerian Journal of Soil Science is a national journal dedicated to research and development on soil as a natural resource on the earth’s surface, including soil formation, classification, and mapping, as well as physical, chemical, biological, and fertility properties of soils, and their applications to crop production. The Soil Science Society of Nigeria (SSSN)publishes this journal as its flagship publication.

Aims & Scope

Nigerian Journal of Soil Science (NJSS) is a peer reviewed journal of the Soil Science Society of Nigeria. The journal covers all areas of interest relating to soil science.

Open Access is a publication model that enables the dissemination of research articles to the global community without restriction through the internet. Anyone with an internet connection can read any article published under open access.

The Nigerian Journal of Soil Science is a peer-reviewed, open-access publication. All abstracts and full texts of articles published in this journal are immediately and unrestrictedly available to everyone following publication.

Manuscript Handling Fee
Authors are required to pay the manuscript handling fee only after their manuscripts have been reviewed and accepted for publication by an editor.The manuscript handling fee for NJSS is $60 (USD) and NGN 25,000 for Nigerian authors.Please note that the journal does not charge a submission fee.
