Our Mission

The Nigerian Journal of Soil Science (NJSS) is a national journal devoted to disseminating research and development on soil as a natural resource on the surface of the earth, both in Nigeria and internationally. This includes physical, chemical, biological, and fertility properties of soils, as well as their applications to crop production, as well as soil formation, classification, and mapping. This journal is published as the flagship publication of the Soil Science Society of Nigeria (SSSN).

Journal History

With its founding in 1968, the Soil Science Society of Nigeria (SSSN) is a registered member of the International Union of Soil Science (IUSS). The Nigerian Journal of Soil Science, or NJSS, was first published in the early 1970s and is published by the society. Anyone interested in soil science, including institutions, private companies, and students, is eligible to join the Society.
